ServiceNet Attends MRC Waiver Unit’s Regional Providers Fair
ServiceNet recently took part in the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) Waiver Unit’s Regional Providers Fair in Worcester, emphasizing the significance of connections and collaboration in supporting individuals with disabilities.
At the event, ServiceNet’s Developmental and Brain Injury Services (DBIS) division staff engaged with Waiver Unit case managers, DDS service coordinators, and other stakeholders.
The MRC Waiver Unit administers a variety of home and community-based waiver programs that support individuals with disabilities. These programs are crucial for helping individuals transition from institutional settings, such as hospitals or nursing homes, to community living environments. Services provided under these waivers include assistance with daily living activities, access to assistive technology, and other community support systems to promote independent living.
Jennifer Wood, a director of operations in the DBIS division who attended the event, emphasized the importance of the fair, stating, “Participating in the MRC Waiver Unit’s Regional Providers Fair allowed us to strengthen connections with fellow providers and deepen our knowledge of available resources. These programs are instrumental in empowering individuals to lead more independent and dignified lives.”
