Recognizing Brain Injury Awareness Day on March 4

Brain Injury Awareness DayMarch is Brain Injury Awareness Month, and Tuesday, March 4 is Brain Injury Awareness Day.

ServiceNet is dedicated to supporting individuals with brain injuries and spreading awareness of the impact of brain injuries. Our goal is to encourage discussion, reduce the stigma surrounding brain injuries, and most importantly—help find resources for people living with brain injuries and their families.

Here are some key points to keep in mind when thinking and talking about brain injuries:

  • Brain injuries aren’t always visible. Someone may appear fine but still experience significant cognitive, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Brain injuries aren’t always permanent. With medical care, rehabilitation, and support, many individuals make significant progress.
  • Each brain injury is unique. There are many types, each with its own symptoms and challenges.
  • People with brain injuries are still capable. With the right support, they can achieve great things and contribute meaningfully to society.

It’s important to understand that each individual with a brain injury has a diverse background with unique challenges, strengths, goals, and interests. ServiceNet strives to offer people with brain injuries meaningful services and the opportunity to live a fulfilling life— a goal we all share.

At ServiceNet, a nonprofit mental health and human services agency in western Massachusetts, we offer a variety of programs and services to assist individuals with brain injuries.
